'Prospect active in another exclusive sequence' error when trying to add prospect to a sequence

Symptom

Prospect active in another exclusive sequence error is shown when trying to add prospect to a sequence.

Resolution

Each sequence can either allow or restrict prospects to be added to other sequences or to be exclusive to the current sequence through the Ruleset safety settings.

Note: sometimes you may not see any active sequence in the Prospect tab but some 'failed' ones only. Even though the prospect state is showing as 'failed', note that this is only referring to the step state and the prospect is still active in the sequence.

Cause

This is happening because the current Sequence Ruleset Safety Settings is set to be exclusive to current sequence.
