Objective

Enable Outreach data to be shared with Databricks.

Outreach Data Sharing enables Outreach to share data with our customers without data transfer. Customers get instant access to all the data shared, regardless of size or complexity, without copying data into customer tenants.

The benefits of Outreach Data Sharing include:

  • Enrich sales workflows by unifying Outreach’s robust data sets with other enterprise data. Use Outreach data to fill data gaps for teams that want to measure performance across multiple data sources.
  • Seamlessly connect data with low-code and minimal management. Outreach Data Sharing provides business intelligence, analytics, and data science teams with direct access to Outreach data without reliance on highly technical teams to create connections between the two systems.
  • Securely access Outreach data in Databricks. Using secure data sharing from Databricks and Outreach, no data is copied or transferred between accounts, so customers can safely access large quantities of data.
  • Reduced cost. Since data doesn’t need to be copied, customers only pay for the compute cost of querying the data.

Once shared, an end user can query the shared data as if it was any other table in their database.

Applies To

  • Outreach Admins

Procedure

This feature is available only if Data Sharing is included in your purchased package.

Prior to enabling this feature, your organization must have a Databricks account. You pay only for the compute; Outreach pays for the storage of the data.

  1. Log in to Outreach as an Admin.
  2. Navigate to Settings > Data & Privacy.
  3. Navigate to Data Sharing.
  4. Navigate to Databricks tab
  5. Click Create a data share.
  6. Enter your Databricks sharing identifier information. Instructions on how to find this information.
  7. Click Add.

After a data share is successfully created, you can access the shared data in your Databricks instance. Follow the Databricks instructions on accessing the shared data

Your data will continue to refresh once daily on the same schedule until the data share is deleted from the Org Settings page.
