Template-related error 'You've reached the character limit'.

Resolution

There is a maximum length to the characters that can be used in a template and that limit is 65535 characters.

Even if the text of the template does not exceed the maximum character limit, the embedded html in relation to all the hyperlinks in the template can cause the character limit to be exceeded.

E.g. if you use an image which has html related to hyperlinks embedded in it, remove the image from the template, then paste the image into a plain text file so the html is removed, and then copy it to the template.
