Answer

When it comes to Email tracking being attributed to a different geographical region than where the prospect is located, what's most likely occurring is one of the following:

  1. The email recipient has a proxy service that handles their mailbox traffic for them, which can be located anywhere. Recipient domains often utilize different types of Viruses, Phishing, and Spam filtering for the protection of their email traffic. Those emails are first parsed through these proxy services to open and scan for this type of content prior to be sent to their actual mailbox. Outreach cannot distinguish who opens that email, so once these services open them,  it registers from that location.
  2. Another possibility is that the company may have their servers based in different locations, which will cause the same thing.
  3. The last possibility is that the recipient is using a VPN which spoofs their actual location, in which Outreach is showing the open from where their VPN is connection is from.
