Objective

The purpose of this article is to provide guidance to Outreach Users on how to use Smart Email Assist (SEA) to generate personalized emails using AI-powered content. This feature enables sellers to tailor emails at scale using buyer signals and seller messaging, improving message quality and reducing manual effort.

Before You Begin

  • Ensure your organization has the Amplify package enabled.

  • Buyer Signals are only available if Data Enrichment is active in your Outreach instance.

Overview

SEA with Personalization brings Gen AI-powered personalization to Outreach emails across task flows and one-off emails. Sellers can now craft context-rich, tailored emails using selected buyer signals, account/prospect fields, and seller messaging all within Outreach.

SEA now includes a redesigned user experience that makes it easier and faster to personalize emails, directly within your current workflow.

Procedure

Buyer Data Selection

  • Select up to three total inputs from:
    • Signals (latest 5 shown, with “See more” option)
    • Account Fields
    • Prospect Fields
  • Inputs only appear when a valid prospect is added to the email.
  • Only fields with available data are shown.

Seller Content Selection

  • One Seller Messaging Content item can be selected.
  • The system auto-selects based on the prospect’s persona.
  • You can:
    • Change or remove the selected item
    • Explore other options in a structured list
    • View full messaging content for each item

Tone & Read Time

  • Customize writing tone (e.g., formal, casual)
  • Choose preferred read time (e.g., short, medium, long)
  • These are reused from existing SEA settings

Personalized Output

  • SEA generates 3 AI-personalized email drafts based on selected inputs
  • Users can view and choose the version that best fits the message

Major UX Improvements

Old Experience:

  • One-off email opened in a modal pop-up
  • SEA appeared inside the pop-up
  • Users couldn’t access other context while composing

New Experience (Currently for Amplify SKU users):

  • One-off email now opens in a side panel
  • SEA launches in a floating side panel on the left
  • Reps can view account and prospect details while composing

  • No more blind writing—context stays visible
  • Instant feedback: change buyer/seller inputs and see new outputs
  • Easy multitasking and better productivity

Q1: When can SEA personalization be used? 
A: When composing first-touch emails—either through one-off emails or email tasks.

Q2: What happens if there’s no valid prospect in the “To” field? 
A: Buyer Data options (Signals, Account Fields, Prospect Fields) will be disabled.

Q3: How many Buyer Data inputs can I use? 
A: Up to three inputs in total.

Q4: How is the Seller Content preselected? 
A: Based on the detected persona of the prospect in the “To” field. You can change it anytime.

Q5: Can users write their own AI prompts? 
A: Yes. You can edit the AI prompt directly or use a prebuilt Outreach sample.
