Objective
Learn how to enable and disable the Propagate Prospect Ownership feature in Outreach, which ensures a seamless transition when the ownership of a Prospect changes from one User to another.
With this feature enabled, any time a Prospect's ownership changes in Outreach, existing tasks assigned to the previous owner will transfer to the new owner. If the Prospect is being sequenced by the previous owner, then the sequencer is also changed to the new owner. If the sequencer or task is a different user that was not the previous owner, those will remain unchanged, and will only reset if the new prospect owner is the same owner as those tasks.
Here's an example scenario:
If Prospect A is owned by User X, and that prospect is in Sequence 1 (sequencer and task owner is User X) and Sequence 2 (sequencer and task owner is User Y).
If ownership to Prospect A changes from User X to User Z, then the sequencer and sequence task owner for Sequence 1 will get updated from User X to User Z, but the sequencer and sequence task owner for Sequence 2 will be unchanged and remain with User Y, since they were not the original previous owner.

Before You Begin
Note the following:
- Task reassignments only work on opened tasks. Failed or paused tasks will not change ownership.
- Task ownership and Sequencer assignments will only change for Tasks/Sequences where the old Prospect owner is assigned, and the new owner has a valid, connected mailbox.
