How To Record a Voicemail Greeting in Outreach

Objective

Learn how to record a personalized greeting in Outreach for Prospects to hear in the event an incoming call is missed.

Procedures

Access the Voice Options

Note: You can return to these options at anytime to toggle between using different types of greetings (or no greeting) as desired.

  1. Access the Outreach Platform.
  2. In the bottom left-hand corner of the navigation sidebar, click the user's initials > Personal settings.
  3. On the Personal settings landing page, in the Voice section, click Devices.
  4. Select the Computer option for both:
    • Make calls from
    • Receive calls on
  5. Now scroll down to the Voicemail section (optionally, click Voicemail in the Voice section list) and proceed below.

Record a personal voicemail greeting yourself

To record a greeting in your own voice:

  1. Click Record new greeting.
  2. In the Name field, input the title of the greeting.
  3. To the upper right, click Start recording to record the voicemail greeting.
  4. When your message is complete, click Stop recording
  5. Click the Play button () to preview the greeting.
    Note: Clicking Start recording while previewing a recorded message overwrites and replaces that greeting. 
  6. When you are satisfied with your recording, click Save to finish. The recording window will close and the name of your new recording will appear in the Voicemail section onscreen.
  7. Toggle the option to the left of the name of your new recording to select it for use.
  8. Click Save at the bottom of the screen to finish.

Use an automated voicemail greeting

Alternatively, you can have your your prospects hear a robot voice dictating a specific script.

  1. Toggle the option to Use an automated voicemail greeting.
  2. From the Voice dropdown, choose between a male or female voice.
  3. In the Voicemail greeting field, enter the script you want the automated voice to read out to callers.
  4. Click Save at the bottom of the screen to finish.
