Objective

The purpose of this article is to provide information to Outreach Admins on how hierarchical teams can be now be leveraged in reporting. Hierarchical reporting provides a hierarchical roll up of your teams and corresponding metrics, along with hierarchical reporting governance to Outreach Users.

Applies To

  • Reporting, specifically the Overview, Pipeline Generation, Sales Execution, Team Performance and Sequence Performance reports

Before you begin

  • This features requires the use of Hierarchical Teams. When setting up your hierarchical teams, for an optimal reporting experience customers should plan to use existing teams in Outreach wherever possible in order to uphold current team membership history.

Procedure

  1. Hierarchical teams must be setup.
  2. Apply governance for access controls in reporting. Customers can allow everyone in the team hierarchy to see all data, restrict visibility at the profile level to only view data within your team, or with the release of hierarchical reporting, customers can also enable team-based governance for reporting to extend down the hierarchy to see their immediate team and all of their subordinate teams. See below for this last control, which is available within the hierarchy settings page, under user management > groups > hierarchies.

Additional Information

Hierarchical reporting carries the key benefits of hierarchical teams and automatic team management into reporting. When using hierarchical teams, selecting team filters within these reports is reflected in a hierarchical team drop down selection from which you can select one layer in the hierarchy at a time. This team selection will replace the “Teams” option in the filter panel of your respective report.

When you select any team above a bottom node of the hierarchy, you will see a roll up of reporting metrics for the team you selected, and the corresponding metrics for each of the teams directly below your selection.

Similarly, when you select a particular hierarchical team in the drop down, you will see all of the users that roll up to that level in the hierarchy.
