Syncing the Outreach stage to a custom picklist in Salesforce without using LeadStatus.

Objective

There may be circumstances in which your org isn't using LeadStatus in Salesforce and is instead using a custom picklist field. Typically, you would map Status <> Stage and set up an advanced field mapping to connect Stage with LeadStatus.

However, if you don't want to use LeadStatus, the field mapping configuration will need to be slightly different.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to your CRM settings in Outreach and click on Lead
  2. Scroll down until you locate the field you're using to map the stage
  3. Click the ... menu on the far right and select Advanced settings
  4. Click the purple pill icon for the Mapped field option so that the Mapped field and Display name instead of record ID options are greyed out

  5. Click Done
  6. Change the Stage field mapping on the right to Stage name
  7. Click Save at the bottom of the screen
  8. Refresh your page and attempt to push a stage change to Salesforce
